Albertan singer-songwriter JOAL KAMPS has been performing live music internationally for nearly 20 years, touring throughout North America and Western Europe multiple times appearing at music festivals, concert series, and other community events as his self-titled solo project or folk/roots duo 'Flint & Feather'.
In addition to his work as a solo artist and self-taught instrumentalist, Joal is also an award-winning songwriter, passionate artist mentor, and arts advocate, and was honoured to be selected for the privileged role of being Alberta's provincial 'Artist in Residence / Arts Ambassador' in 2020-2021.
Joal's original, cover, and instrumental work is primarily performed on classical guitar and based in the folk/roots genre, most often featuring fingerpicking styled compositions infused with world music flavour. This accessible sound creates the perfect atmosphere for many different types of events.
