The Arts Station is Fernie’s hub for arts and culture and home to the Fernie & District Arts Council. Our mission is to provide meaningful arts and cultural opportunities to the Elk Valley community.
Our main performance opportunity is the Wednesday Social, a beloved summer tradition in Fernie. These free, outdoor live music events take place every Wednesday evening in July and August in Station Square. They offer performers the chance to connect with an enthusiastic audience in a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere that celebrates creativity and community.
From September to May, we also offer music lessons at The Arts Station, supporting skill development for musicians of all levels.
In addition, The Arts Station is available to rent for events, rehearsals, and creative gatherings. Due to our busy schedule, rental availability is limited, so we recommend inquiring early or checking out our friends the Knox on Second for a Fernie music venue.
Ramp access is from the 7th street side of The Arts Station. Our main floor, which features the theatre, is accessible with Universal Washrooms. Sound booth and green room are on other floors which are reached by stairs. Sound equipment can be controlled via an ipad on the main floor and alternative green room can be provided on the main floor. Stage has stepped access.
