Event Description

Atlantic recording artist Jason Mraz is set for a whirlwind of activity celebrating the release of his hugely anticipated new album. “YES!” arrives tomorrow in stores and at all online retailers.

“YES” marks what is perhaps the most unexpected and accomplished collection of the San Diego-based troubadour’s already extraordinary career. Highlighted by the first single, “Love Someone,” the album – which finds Mraz teaming up with his longtime friends, Raining Jane – is streaming now in its entirety via iHeartRadio.

The multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter has also announced the North American leg of his upcoming “YES!” world tour, slated to visit an array of legendary venues around the planet through 2014 and beyond. The dates – which feature backing from “YES!” collaborators..., Raining Jane – get underway with a three night stand at his hometown’s historic San Diego Civic Theater, set for August 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Mraz then continues the tour, choosing to perform in small venues and theaters with several multi-day residencies through November (see attached itinerary). Mraz will also find time to visit Europe, where he is set to appear in such historic theatres and concert halls as London’s Royal Albert Hall, Paris’ Casino de Paris, Amsterdam’s Royal Theatre Carré, Frankfurt’s Alter Oper, and Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle. Asian and Australian tours are also scheduled for later this year, with South America slated for 2015. As if that weren’t enough, Mraz and Raining Jane will make two high profile TV appearances this week, including NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, July 17th and NBC’s TODAY “Toyota Concert Series” – broadcast live from New York’s Rockefeller Center – on Friday, July 18th. Next week, Mraz’s episode of Inside the Artists Den, shot at UCLA’s Royce Hall last month, will premiere on Friday, July 25th via New York City’s WNET (check local listings for other cities/air dates). The appearances follow Mraz’s recent performance of “Love Someone” on the live season finale of Fox’s American Idol and a profile of the singer/songwriter which aired on CBS Sunday Morning yesterday.

“YES!” was preceded by the recent release of We Can Take The Long Way, a short film which premiered last month via USA Today and is streaming now at Mraz’s official YouTube Channel, http://youtu.be/0OfyQtaVpHA.
