Event Description
Learn how to make your own stop-motion film at the Broom Factory! Using paper puppets, learn how to craft and record your own short film.
Silhouette animation dates back to the earliest days of cinematography and was a technique championed by the legendary Norman McLaren in the early days of the National Film Board of Canada. This workshop uses a similar technique – articulated paper puppets – but simplified for kids. This five hour course will teach you the basics and provide all the materials, though you’re welcome to bring your own art supplies if you’ve got favourites you want to use! At the end of the day, you’ll have your finished puppet and a video clip to take home.
