Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam 6:45pm, Open Stage 7:30pm, Feature Performer Nathan Tinkham at 9:00pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door

Grizzled veteran of the Canadian folk and country scenes, Nathan’s music career goes right back to the early ‘70s, busking on the streets of Victoria and playing at the newly-founded VFMS! Over the next fifty years he worked and recorded with Ian Tyson, Cindy Church, Quartette, Wilf Carter, Diamond Joe White, Undertakin' Daddies, Great Western Orchestra and a host of others. Working mostly as a sideman, Nathan also began writing his own songs and has had many of his compositions recorded by other people. Accompanied by his guitar, he will be performing his own songs as well as a few of his favourite folk, swing, and cowboy covers. In addition to touring, Nathan continues to write and work out of his studio on Gabriola Island. He doesn’t play many solo shows but he’s looking forward to this one….and so are we!!
