Event Description

This isn’t your typical singer-songwriter show.

Six songwriters gather in a circle and take turns sharing songs, one after another, round-robin style. Each artist plays a song, then the next, and the circle keeps moving until everyone has shared several songs.

The audience sits around the outside of the circle, creating an intimate environment where the focus is on the craft of songwriting rather than a traditional stage performance. Think of it less like a concert and more like being invited into a living room where musicians are trading songs, telling stories, and trying out new ideas.

Expect a relaxed, creative atmosphere where artists may test new material, talk about the inspiration behind their songs, and connect with each other—and the audience—in a way that rarely happens in a standard gig.

It’s part performance, part conversation, and part musical hang.

Felicia Harding:

Songwriter, vocal coach and multi-instrumentalist Felicia Harding is a road-warrior who offers a distinct voice from Vancouver Island. She has toured Canada extensively with alt-pop/rock band Fortune Killers ("one of Victoria's best up-and-coming acts" - Rolling Stone) and completed 8 Australian tours with folk-pop trio Belle Miners and as well as a tour of Europe with indie-folkronica duo The Sleeves. A musical shape-shifter, her soaring vocals imbue a golden thread of continuity, melting Lana Del Ray's sultry tones with Kate Bush's vibrato a dash of Jenn Grant's playful warmth.

Claire Coupland:

There is a pureness to Claire's voice that can silence a room. A moving songwriter and compelling guitarist, critically acclaimed singer songwriter Claire Coupland combines her smooth signature folk finger picking, soaring melodies and a dose of jazz-school chord changes. Claire has been relentlessly touring and appearing in festivals all over Canada, US, The UK, drawing audiences into her intimate and heart wrenching performances. Her new album “New Light” delivers carefully crafted, darker and more vulnerable reckonings of self worth, escaping abuse, fragile family dynamics and ultimate hope for the future. After joining forces with Juno award winning musician Sam Weber (Bahamas) and some of LA’s finest musicians (Dawes, Alan Hampton), the album presents fresh and spontaneous arrangements of her songs with mood filled percussion, slinky guitars, sparkling piano and shades of grunge and California rock. Her music has reached #3 in the national college/community radio charts, had steady CBC & BBC UK airplay, and rave reviews from music publications around the world who laud her lyricism, deft guitar playing and rich vocals, and a powerful, yet tender delivery. Claire Coupland brings a graceful contemporary feel to modern folk music, always with a touch of her “wicked sense of humour” (Rik Emmett, Triumph).

Daine Harding:

Musician, songwriter, sound engineer and producer Daine Harding, originally from Australia, creates music that feels both intimate and transportive. With a soulful, smooth, and mesmerising voice, Daine draws listeners into a hypnotic sonic atmosphere where emotion and texture take centre stage. His songwriting often feels trance-like—slowly unfolding and immersive—inviting listeners to drift into the spaces between melody and feeling.

Blending lush electric guitar tones with his warm, atmospheric voice, Daine builds soundscapes that encourage stillness and presence. Each song feels like a moment suspended in time, where layered guitars, subtle production, and heartfelt vocals create a deeply reflective listening experience.

Rooted in both musicianship and studio craftsmanship, Harding approaches his music with the sensitivity of a songwriter and the precision of a producer. The result is a sound that feels organic yet carefully sculpted—music designed to transport the listener somewhere quieter, somewhere inward.

Blake Andison:

Blake Andison is a local singer songwriter who has been performing on Vancouver Island and beyond for over 20 years. Through his many bands and projects, Blake’s commitment to strong, heartfelt songwriting has been a consistent theme. Heavily influenced by legends of the past, Blake’s songs cross multiple genres and his impactful lyrics hit home for those who pay attention. Currently Blake is part of two projects: the Heartland Rock duo Andison Hills and the Rock n Roll outfit the Coast.

Marina Avros:

There is a person who has lived with the trees.

A Smoke Catcher for fourteen summers, they climbed a tower above the boreal forest. To pass the time they listened. To the wind, to the wild ones, to the slow breath of the earth. In that great hush, they wrote songs. The land was speaking, and the songs were the shape of its reply.

Marina Avros sings with the piercing clarity of glacial air.

Melodies that move like a river, slow, quick, turning, falling. Some songs are as dark as where the roots roam, others as playful as a sky full of cumulus clouds.

In every performance, there is a tenderness, a truth-telling. A reminder of something we once knew but forgot.

Marina Avros is not trying to be discovered. She is simply being. But those who come to her shows, whether at a house concert, under a festival tent, or on a forest trail, often leave feeling they’ve found something.

And perhaps they have.

Cory Owens

Cory Owens is a Victoria-based folk and indie singer-songwriter who writes honest, reflective songs shaped by a lifelong love of music. After winning Victoria Idol in 2010 performing original songs and touring Canada with the band Bad Strangers, he now focuses on sharing new music and contributing to the local songwriting community.
