Door d'Or plays moody, guitar-driven indie rock with post-punk restraint and a strong sense of space. Set to release their debut album in Spring 2026 - The Exquisite Dream imagines an optimistic vision of the future. The record was conceived with a focus on translating live energy into a dynamic, in-studio record. Recorded with legendary indie producer Colin Stewart, the album blends atmospheric guitars, post-punk textures, and melodic tension, delivering a sound that’s immersive, immediate, and crafted for attentive listening.
Main songwriter Mat Geddes combines the dust of sacred sites and the sweat of lived adventures, forming lyrics that coalesce earth and spirit, searching the spaces between our human existence and the cosmos where meaning radiates. Ethereal basslines woven by Mike Ison and Owen Sandquist-Sherman reverberate from hip-hop to reggae to Dead- like jams, sharing the pulse and foundational dynamics of drummer darin Steinkey. EV Fry's keys add harmonic richness and textural depth, shaping the mood with musical intuition. And soaring within, Ry Clayton's lead guitar breathes, whispering then wailing—always carrying a truth that converts sonics to visions. Improvisation is central to Door d’Or’s process—a way to lose and find themselves in sound, to let space and time shape each moment, each song, as much as the strings and skins do. Every rehearsal and performance is part ritual, part adventure—an unfolding rather than a plan.
